Lisa holds a Master’s Degree in Voice and Speech Pedagogy from the world-renowned Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London, and is a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique.

Meditation, Emotions and the Brain with Philippe Goldin, Ph.D.
In this workshop, we will focus on experiencing a variety of specific meditation practices that are related to training attention, enhancing emotional awareness and increasing psychological flexibility. Additionally, we will relate these practices to current neuroscience perspectives on specific brain systems involved in emotional reactivity, cognitive and attention regulation, and self-referential processing. We will also discuss how mental health practitioners are working on integrating meditation practices into cognitive-behavioral therapies for a variety of specific psychological problems, where such hybrid clinical interventions may or may not be helpful, and how clinical scientists are examining the underlying mechanisms of change related to different meditation and cognitive practices. Philippe is currently a research scientist and directs the Clinically Applied Affective Neuroscience group in the Department of Psychology and serves as Director of Clinical Research for the Center for Compassion and Altruistic Research and Education at Stanford University.

Stress and Pain Management based on the Principles of the Alexander Technique with John A. Baron
The Alexander Technique is a form of psycho-physical re-education and one of the most proven self-care methods for chronic pain management. It's self-empowered healing for anybody who is experiencing stress and/or pain. John has a successful Alexander Technique practice in Sausalito, CA and is the Co-Director of the Alexander Education Center in Berkeley, CA, a training school for future teachers of the Alexander Technique.

Happy Hours: Full Engagement - Simple Practices to create sustainable happiness at work and in life - with Monika Broecker and Mariah Howard
In this experiential workshop, we will introduce you to simple practices to increase your levels of fulfillment and happiness at work and to decrease your stress levels. We will also discuss the latest insights about these cutting-edge concepts and practices in science, particularly in cognitive sciences (especially solution-focused brief therapy); in neuroscience and brain research, in stress management research, motivation research etc. Every participant will get a Full Engagement card set.
