Expand your
psychodynamic orientation with potent, out-of-the-box interventions that track
the client moment-by-moment and illuminate their defensive styles - styles that prohibit deeper access and
meaningful insight. By interrupting
life-long chronic patterns, the client realizes both the historical and present
consequences of their patterns. We teach specific ways the therapist can move
the client
out of repetitive, reinforcing “story telling”, intellectualization,
and other defenses that slow down effective change.
Our central approach is Reichian characteranalysis.
Learn an elegant typology of character types so you can differentiate between
clients and learn interventions designed for their specific character type. Our courses also address the corresponding somatic
armoring related to each character as well as the physical symptoms associated
with each. Using biophysical methods, we help the client release muscular
blockage and tension that limits their free biophysical and emotional
expression.
Contact us for CE information. Class sizes are limited to 12 students.
Our Topical Mentoring classes are 4-hour intensives that
cover specific topics such as Differential Diagnosis, Biophysical Techniques
and Dream Analysis. We gather as a group
of peers and through case presentations, client demonstrations and role-playing,
look at how to put theory into action.
Our Biophysical Demonstration classes are immensely popular
classes that focus on both differentiating and treating character types using
bodywork interventions. We typically
schedule 4 live client sessions during the class. Dr. Frisch actively
demonstrates verbal character-work for 20 minutes and then the client moves to
the couch to experience the biophysical techniques, if appropriate. Dr. Frisch guides those in attendance and
trained in biophysical work to use hands-on methods to help clients release held-in
tensions, make contact with their physical sensations and expression, and
access emotional content.

Blog post by Dr. Patricia Frisch
The news reportage continues to grapple with shocks like the Boston Marathon bombings and the men who wrecked that havoc on innocent people. How can it be that someone, particularly the younger of the two bombers who appeared socially adept, friendly and an “average student Joe” could have a fanatical, dark underbelly and commit atrocious, murderous deeds?
